Hi! We’re BARE Cookware. We redesign classic kitchen tools for today’s cooks, and after five smash-hit Kickstarter campaigns we’re thrilled to unveil our sixth: our reinvented Dutch oven.

A Dutch oven is a kitchen workhorse, great for everything from searing to simmering. But classic enamelled cast iron has inherent flaws:

  • Enamel inevitably chips and degrades over time
  • Cast iron heats unevenly, creating a hot spot that scorches stews
  • They’re heavy and cumbersome

We’ve spent the past few years refining a timeless piece of cookware. By using modern materials, we’ve made the Dutch oven even better.

The difference is in our 2-ply construction:

  • 304 Stainless Steel Interior: A durable, non-reactive, chip-free cooking surface. Perfect for searing, easy to clean, and built to withstand anything.
  • 5mm Aluminium Exterior: Conducts heat 4× better than cast iron for incredibly even, edge-to-edge cooking, holds heat superbly for steady temperatures, and is still significantly lighter.

The result? A Dutch oven that delivers superior cooking performance at nearly half the weight. It’s fully induction-ready, dishwasher-safe, and backed by a lifetime warranty.

Enamel is great! Until it chips. That’s why we ditched it entirely. No enamel means no chipping. Ever.

Instead, we use a tough high-grade stainless steel interior. It handles high heat, builds rich, flavourful fond, and deglazes like a dream. No delicate coatings. No babysitting.

Scorched stews? Not anymore.

Our thick aluminium exterior conducts heat 4× better than cast iron, spreading it fast and evenly across the entire base. That means consistent, controlled cooking. Even on small burners or induction cooktops.

Every inch of the pot cooks, not just the center.

Storing heat is the secret of any good Dutch Oven.

It’s what gives you steady simmers, golden crusts, and sizzling sears. Cast iron achieves this through sheer mass. But that isn’t the only way.

Here’s our trick: Aluminium holds nearly twice the heat energy per kilogram compared to cast iron. That means our Dutch oven delivers exceptional thermal stability at a much lower weight.

So go ahead: add cold ingredients, switch burners, finish in the oven. Your cooking temperature stays rock steady. All the performance. None of the compromise.

We heated both Dutch ovens to 200°C in the oven and filmed how long it takes for them to cool down to 100°C. Both ovens cool at the same rate—proving our lightweight aluminium design (right) holds heat just as well as heavy cast iron (left).

The superior thermal properties of our 2-ply construction give you consistent, high-end cooking performance in a much lighter package. The BARE Dutch Oven weighs just 3.9kg (8.6lb), over 40% lighter than cast-iron pots that often top 7kg (15lb).

Cast-iron Dutch ovens were invented long before induction cooktops, so they were never designed for modern hobs. Our aluminium core, delivers perfectly even, responsive heating on induction, gas, electric, and ceramic surfaces. It’s oven-safe up to 260 °C / 500 °F.

It’s the classic slow cooker, fully optimized for contemporary kitchens.

The Dutch oven is the most versatile pan in your kitchen, built to do it all. It’s perfect for braising, boiling, and stewing. The wide base makes it great for searing.
